Bulky Collections
How much does it cost?
£32 including VAT for up to 5 items
£58 including VAT for 6 to 10 items.
There are no concessions or exceptions to this charge. The Council has been unable to offer a free collection service since the introduction of disposal charges for waste collection centres by the Government.
What items will you collect?
- Large, moveable household goods
- Furniture – Including sofas, tables, mattresses (unsoiled). Unfortunately we cannot collect pianos
- White goods - Including fridges, freezers, washing machines

The items for collection must be placed outside the property as we are unable to enter a house to collect. If you have an item for collection or you are not sure whether we can collect your item please contact us on 01395 571515 or email our Customer Service Team.
How do I arrange for a bulky collection?
Contact our Customer Service team with a list of the items. Please be very specific about what you want to be collected as we will only collect the items you have told us about. Collections will be made within seven days of receiving payment.
Alternatives to a bulky waste collection
Before calling us to ask for a bulky collection, please consider whether you could ask a local charity if they could resell the item.

Freecycle & Freegle - Post an ad with what you have and if someone else can make use of it you can arrange for them to collect it. It is all free of charge.
If you have transport, you could also take your item/s to your local Recycling Centre (where items are generally accepted free of charge, subject to exceptions).
