Civic Suite Information

The function rooms at the Knowle Civic Offices are available for hire outside normal office opening hours.

The historic East Devon District Council Offices are set in 16 acres of beautiful parkland in Sidmouth overlooking Lyme Bay. The lawns with a view to the sea make an ideal photographic background. The lawns, trees and shrubs are maintained throughout the year by the Council’s award winning gardening team.

Built originally as a Gentleman’s residence it was later enlarged and became an hotel and subsequently the East Devon District Council Offices in the early 1970’s.

Available for hire are the Council Chamber and the Committee Room which when hired together include the use of a fully fitted and equipped kitchen ideal for a dinner and dance a concert or a meeting. Car parking is freely available immediately outside these rooms including bays for the disabled as required.

Letting times are:

Morning 8.30am – 1.00pm

Afternoon 1.00pm – 5.00pm

Evening 5.00pm – Midnight Weekdays and Saturdays
