EDDC may sell lease on land at Beach Gardens

East Devon District Council has advertised its intention through a Public Notice to dispose of public open space at Beach Gardens, adjacent to Carlton Slipway.
Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed disposal should do so in writing by 11 March 2010. They should write to Head of Legal, Licensing and Democratic Services, East Devon District Council, Knowle, Sidmouth, Devon, EX10 8HL.
A plan showing the land is available for inspection between 9am and 4.30pm at Exmouth Town Hall Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 9.00am to 4.00pm on Fridays, and at EDDC Offices at Knowle, Sidmouth, Monday–Friday until 11 March 2010.
Members of East Devon District Council will subsequently be asked to consider any representations made and decide whether or not to market this prominent sea-front site by way of a 125-year ground lease.
The lease would give rights to construct a building and to trade from the premises in water sports based training and associated retail on a site of 1,100 square metres.
