Trying to raise money for new chairs for your community room, or to buy plants for a communal garden?
If you have a project or an idea that benefits the tenants of East Devon District Council you can apply for a grant from the Community Initiative Fund. You do'nt need to be part of a recognised group to apply, but the funding has to go to a project which will benefit a number of tenants.
Listed below are some examples of the grants that have been awarded in 2010:
- Morgan & Dray Court, Exmouth – Picnic table, parasol and base.
- Lymebourne Park, Sidmouth – Patio Decking
- Heathpark Project – Visit to Crealy with East Devon Voluntary Services Association
- Meadway & St Gregory’s Court, Seaton – Notice Board
- Brooklyn Park, Exmouth – communal garden spring plants
- Dray & Morgan Court, Exmouth – Laptop, printer, software and phone line
- Littleham Leisure Centre, Exmouth – Donation towards re-surfacing car park
The fund is managed by the Tenant and Leaseholder Customer Panel and they are able to award grants of up to £1000 to community projects.
