Speak Now is a public involvement project. It was set up to give people the opportunity to make their views heard on local issues and to take an active part in the decision making process.
The project works closely with all major decision makers in East Devon including:
- East Devon District Council
- Devon County Council
- Health Service
- Social Services
- Devon & Cornwall Police Authority
The project was set up to create a co-ordinated approach to gathering public views and to ensure that you have a say on the services your community receives.
What would I have to do? Speak Now members are invited to take part in a variety of consultation exercises ranging from focus groups, postal questionnaires, meetings, special interest groups and more.

You choose the activities you would like to be involved in. There is no pressure and it is up to you to choose your level of involvement.
What will I get in return for my involvement? We will pay any reasonable out of pocket expenses and travel costs incurred and you will received regular feedback on how your views have helped to influence local issues. Each of the public agencies will keep you in touch with what is going on and how your input has helped.
