General funding throughout Devon
There are several leading organisations that distribute general grants and funding advice throughout Devon, including East Devon. Their funding programmes sometimes change so you may find it worthwhile to check their websites regularly for the latest information.
In Kind Direct receives surplus goods from companies that it them gives out to voluntary organisations around the UK for a fraction of the real cost. A wide variety of goods including toiletries, clothing, household appliances and food. Goods must not be sold, bartered or traded. Make a difference in Devon Devon County Councillors have £40,000 each available for community projects. This is £25,000 to support capital projects (spending on significant assets that will have a life of many years) and £15,000 of revenue funding (spending on day-to-day items to run services, such as staffing, supplies and purchase of services). As news of this funding is spreading quickly, interested organisations are advised to contact their County Councillor as soon as possible. Small grants The South West Foundation Small Grants Fund has grants of up to £1,000 available to support small community organsations operating in rural areas, market and coastal towns (not urban areas). The funding must be used for activities that enable people from diverse backgrounds to become engaged in their neighbourhoods and communities and/or to bring about real change to the lives of people in the community. The East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Sustainable Development Fund This Fund gives grants to a wide range of community groups, organisations and businesses to make a real difference to their local environment or the way in which they do carry out their activities. The fund is available to any individuals, groups or businesses with ideas for projects that will benefit the East Devon AONB, its users and surrounding area. Funding for Innovation Springboard is the new investment fund created to support the development of innovative ideas that will have a significant impact on the economy of Devon and Cornwall by creating jobs. Investment of over £30,000, in the form of a loan, or possibly a grant, is available to any organisation in the public, private or voluntary sector, as funding to support early stage development, feasibility studies or 'step change' activity. Sir John and Lady Amory’s Charitable Trust has funding of various amounts for good causes in Devon.
