In certain circumstances some properties may be totally exempt from Council Tax. The main exemption classes are listed below. The links will provide more information and either allow you to email us with the details of your claim or provide an exemption application form. Occupied properties:-
- Occupied only by full time students - please let us know the details.

Unoccupied properties:-
Unfurnished property requiring or undergoing major structural repairs or alterations (135KB - 23 January 2012 - PDF Help) (1 year maximum limit). Newly built property (6 month maximum from substantial completion) - Owned by a charity (up to 6 months) - please let us know the details.

Empty due to person having gone to live in a care home (135KB - 23 January 2012 - PDF Help) - Left empty by a deceased person (up to 6 months after grant of probate or letters of administration) - please let us know the details.
