How to Pay Your Rent
Rent is due and payable weekly, fortnightly or monthly in advance. Weekly payments are due each Monday. Fortnightly payments are due on the first Monday of each fortnightly period. Please refer to your rent book for these periods. Monthly payments are due on or before 8th of each month, unless paying by Direct Debit which is due on 1st of each month.

You can pay your home or garage rent:

• At any post office
  using your rent book. You will not have to pay any counter fee.
• By telephone
  using your debit or credit card. Please telephone direct line 01395 517444, or the automated out of hours direct line 08447 369631 and select option 5.. There is no charge for this service.
• In person
  If you prefer to make your payment in person, you can pay at the Council office in Knowle, Sidmouth. You can make your payment in cash, with a cheque or with a debit or credit card. The office is open Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.00pm.
• By post
  to The Rental Section, East Devon District Council, Council Offices, Knowle, Sidmouth, Devon, EX10 8HL. If you send cash it must be by registered post. Please make cheques payable to East Devon District Council.
• At the bank or building society
  where you are a customer, either at the counter or by bank standing order or direct debit.
• By standing order or direct debit
  please check with you bank or building society that your account will accept this payment method. Contact the Housing Rents Team for more details on how to set up a bank standing order. or direct debit.
• Online
  using our on line payment option.
