Pre-application advice. From 01 February 2010, East Devon Disctrict Council will introduce charges for some forms of pre-application advice. |
East Devon District Council provides a planning service which assesses applications for planning permission within the scope of local and national planning policies. This page provides information on a number of services related, or connected, to planning. For information relating specifically to planning (Development Management), please use this link. Alternatively, the quick questions below may provide the information you require:
- What are my permitted development rights? For information relating to permitted development rights, please use this link.
- I need advice before submitting my planning application. The Planning Portal offer advice about submitting a planning application. However, if you require more local information, please contact the Council with as much information as possible about your proposal.
- I'd like to see a planning application that someone has made. Using Planning On-line, you can view full details of all new applications received by the Council.
- I'd like to comment on a planning application. You can submit comments about planning applications electronically using Planning-On-line. Alternatively, you can send your comments by post. Your comments should be received within 21 days or the date upon which the application was advertised.

Key Planning Services
Planning Online:
East Devon District Councils' Planning Online Service provides the following facilities:
- Documents relating to planning applications available to view on-line.
- Submit comments about planning applications electronically.
- View lists of planning applications received and decisions made.
- View property details.
- View maps showing planning related information. (Note- constraints information is not available)
- Search for planning applications, properties, appeals and enforcement information.
Note- Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that records available through Planning Online are accurate the records do not constitute legally binding documentation and the Council will not be liable for any errors.
Note that the addresses used for maps produced by the Planning Online service are taken from our Local Land and Property Gazetteer. Whilst we know that the majority of properties are addressed and located correctly, there may be some errors. We are striving to achieve 100% accuracy, but please let us know if you find any errors either by snn@eastdevon.gov.uk or by phone 01395 517451.

Please note that it may take upto 5 working days for plans and documents associated with planning applications to be loaded onto the Planning Online service.

The Planning Portal is a government run service. Using the Planning Portal, you can submit planning applications, plans, and planning fees electronically - Click here to make an on-line planning application. The Planning Portal also provides information, advice and guidance about the planning system.
