The production of a Parish Plan can be a daunting prospect, and some communities do not feel that they have the necessary expertise to carry out the task. The Community Council of Devon can offer practical advice and have helped many local groups to carry out community planning initiatives. Our planning policy and design staff are also able to help to assist in the preparation of Parish Plans

  • By providing maps and aerial photographs for use in public exhibitions
  • By offering advice on the process
  • By commenting on the draft Parish plan
  • By assisting in the endorsement of the Parish Plan
  • and, perhaps most importantly, By putting groups in touch with each other so that they can learn from each others experience!

The Countryside Agency produce a very useful guidance leaflet which explains the Parish Plan process to Parish Councils and residents.
