Do you have a "local connection"?
If you have a local connection with East Devon District Council you will not be referred elsewhere. If you do not have a local connection with East Devon District Council, you will be referred to the Council where you have a local connection. You will not be referred to another Council area if you are at risk from domestic violence there.
If you are homeless you are considered to have a "local connection" with East Devon District Council if:
- You normally live in East Devon, or lived here in the past, of your own choice.
- You are employed in East Devon (other then in the Armed Forces).
- You have close family living in East Devon.
- There are other special circumstances that connect you to this area.
If you have no local connection to anywhere, East Devon District Council will be responsible for dealing with your homeless application.
