Support and Care in Sheltered Accommodation
In addition to the alarm service (for more information click here) both Scheme Managers and Mobile Support Officers will agree and organise a support plan and risk assessment for you. This will mean that you receive the assistance and help needed to meet your individual needs. All residents who receive support whilst in sheltered accommodation can have additional support at times when it is needed, and this will be by agreement with the Mobile Support Officer or Scheme Manager. For example, if a resident is unwell and requires additional reassurance during this time.
The support staff will also facilitate getting additional support or home care from Social Services or other community-based agencies if it cannot be provided by them. This means that all residents remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. Also, if required, they can help a resident make an application for adaptations and disabled facilities.
