How Your Rent is Set

The Government, through the Communities and Local Government Department, gives yearly guidelines to control and set the levels of Council dwelling rents. Rents normally change in April of each year.
In April 2002 the Government started a rent restructuring policy, which is intended to converge all Council and registered social landlord rents by 2015/2016.
