The Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership for East Devon

Following the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, various Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships were set up across the country. One such partnership is the East Devon Community Safety Partnership.  The purpose of the Crime and Disorder Act is for public bodies and other agencies "to work together to reduce crime, disorder and fear of crime locally, in order to improve the quality of life and to create a safer living and working environment".

The Partnership comprises a multi agency Steering Group which oversees the work of four geographically based action groups at Exmouth, Honiton, Seaton / Axminster ( Axe Valley ) and Sidmouth / Ottery St Mary. It also oversees the work of the East Devon Domestic Violence Forum, the Diversity Group and the Drug and Alcohol Implementation Group, the latter two of which have merged with their Mid Devon counterparts.
