Pest Control
We offer East Devon residents a pest control service for pests of public health significance at their own residential premises at the following rates. This service is provided on our behalf by Rentokil ( www.uk.rentokil.com) If you would like a visit please contact us on: 01395 571517.
| Rats | £20 + VAT per treatment | A treatment usually consists of three visits |
| Mice | £40 + VAT per typical treatment course | A typical course of mouse treatment usually consists of three visits |
| Cockroaches & Bed-Bugs | £50 + VAT per visit | More than one visit may be required for Cockroaches and Bed-Bugs |
| Fleas | £50 + VAT per visit | A single treatment should be sufficient. However if instructions are not followed carefully, another treatment visit may be necessary and this will be chargeable at the same rate |
| Wasps, hornets and bees | £35 + VAT per treatment | Subject to the nest being accessed without the need for access equipment |
| Ants, Booklice, Psocids, Flies and Beetles | £50 + VAT per treatment |
Although not part of our original contract, due to customer demand Rentokil are able to provide a service for treating squirrels inside domestic property:
| Squirrels (indoors) | £150 + VAT to incorporate 3 visits over 3 consecutive days. Additional visits if required at £40 + VAT per visit |
Because of legislation the Rentokil Technician will need to gain access at least once a day for three consecutive days and a decision must then be made at the end of the third day whether to continue the treatment, at additional cost, or to remove the traps |
If an animal is not listed above,eg herring gulls, feral pigeons, rabbits, moles etc, then the Council does not provide pest control services. However, Rentokil are able to provide a free survey and quotation for these issues and can be contacted direct on 0800 218 2210 or if you wish to choose your own pest control contractor, please look in the Yellow Pages under 'Pest Control' or visit www.yell.com.
Other wild animals such as badgers will require a license and in this instance you will need to contact DEFRA on 08459 33 55 77 or by email at helpline@defra.gsi.gov.uk
