Finding a Home in East Devon

East Devon District Council's Housing & Social Inclusion Service helps people with a 'housing need' in East Devon by helping them find appropriate accommodation. We also seek to create 'viable housing choices' for each person in East Devon, for example through 'affordable housing'. We work with our own housing teams, partners in the private sector, other Social Housing landlords, and housing advice agencies to improve housing provision in the District.

  • If you are interested in owning your own home but cannot afford to do so on the open market then South West Homes can offer a range of affordable options to help.
  • If you are already a council tenant and your housing requirements have changed so that you wish to seek alternative accommodation please see Section 11 of the PDF file Tenant Handbook (2294KB - 17 May 2011 - PDF Help).  You will need to register with Devon Home Choice
  • If you wish to move into a smaller council property you may be eligible for up to £3000 to help towards the cost of your move.  More information about our downsizing scheme is available PDF file here (895KB - 13 July 2011 - PDF Help)
  • Information relating to the provision of affordable housing through new development is available here.
