Street Trading - The Esplanade & The Promenade Sidmouth
At its meeting on 9 June 2008 the Licensing & Enforcement Committee resolved to re-designate the Esplanade and Promenade Sidmouth as a consent street for street trading under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982. The re-designation will take effect from 14 July 2008 and will permit a maximum of 50 consents at one time on the roadside of the Esplanade.

A consultation is currently being undertaken with regard to the street trading that took place during the Folk Festival in August 2008. The results of the consultation will be reported to the Licensing & Enforcement Committee in 2009 and a decision will be made over permitting street trading in the future.
