Special Collections
East Devon District Council operate a Special Collection service for unwanted bulky household items such as fridges or freezers. The 2008/2009 charge for the service is £45. (This is a charge for the service NOT per item)
Conditions are:
- Fixtures and fittings are not accepted.
- Items must be made easily accessible and available outside the property
- No appointments - items will be collected within 7 days from the day payment is received
- No House clearances
Examples of acceptable items:
- Furniture eg sofas, beds etc.
- Carpets
- Electrical goods
- Cookers - Not Aga or Rayburn
- Fridges
- Freezers
- Storage Heaters - No bricks
- Upright Piano
- Garden tools
Examples of unacceptable items:
- Asbestos
- Kitchen units
- Fire Surrounds
- Oil Tanks
- Doors (inc Garage Doors)
- Sinks
- Baths
- Boilers
- Sheds
- Storage heaters with bricks
- Aga and Rayburn Cookers
- Gas Canisters (full or empty)
- Coal Bunkers
- Rubble
- Car Parts, Batteries and tyres.
