Business and the Planning Process
Maintaining the quality of East Devon’s natural and physical environment is closely related to the dynamics and health of private and community enterprise. The Economic development unit seeks to influence the planning process in the release of land for business and employment. In this way it facilitates local work related investment.
The unit continues to support efforts to secure the regeneration of the Harbour Road area of Seaton. It seeks to maximise the effectiveness and future potential of the Council’s direct investment in workspace, and manages the East Devon Business Centre at Honiton. With the Council’s regional and sub-regional partners, the unit will continue to promote the case for investment in strategic infrastructure and employment land.
