Car Parking Permits for 2008/2009
The cost of permits for 2008/2009 have now been set and the price has only risen, by approximately 5% from last year.
Due to its popularity, it has been agreed to retain the Economy Permit. This allows anyone purchasing a Town/Area Permit to pay a supplement of £21.00 (or £11 on a 6 monthly permit) allowing a driver to park in any other EDDC car park outside their designated area for a maximum of 2 hours. A Town/Area Permit with this concession would therefore cost £116.00 (or £68.00 for a 6 monthly permit).
The conditions for the East Devon Permit (covering all EDDC car parks) remains the same, and allows permit holders to park for as long as they wish in Long Stay car parks. However, there is a Restriction of Use of your permit when used in short stay car parks. The permit is only valid for one visit of up to 2 hours in each of the short stay car parks in the district. The visit may be less than 2 hours but not more than 2 hours. The Restriction of Use of the permit applies between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday inclusive. It does not apply on Sundays.

Permits can also be ordered by telephone and paid for by Debit Card ( I regret the Council does not accept Credit Cards). In most instances your permit will be sent out the same day. Should you wish to pay by Debit/Maestro card please call 01395 571643.

Weekly Permits
These permits, which cost £18.00, are specifically designed with holidaymakers in mind. The permits allow you to park in any East Devon District Council car park (except for Roxburgh car park, Sidmouth). The permits can be bought from the Tourist Information Centres listed below:

Weekly Permits can also be obtained from any car park Pay & Display machine at any time of day or night. Please ensure you have £18.00 in change.

How and where to buy permits
By post
The Council will be pleased to send you an application form (with a pre-paid reply envelope). Please telephone 01395 516551 and ask for "Parking Permits" or fax on 01395 517460 with your name and address.
Applicants can also write to: Cashiers Dept "PP". East Devon District Council, Knowle, Sidmouth, EX10 8HL. Please give details of your car registration number, type of permit and for which town (where applicable). Cheques should be made payable to East Devon District Council.
By telephone using Debit card
Permits can be requested over the telephone and in most instances will be sent out the same day the order is received.
Just ring us on 01395 571643 Please have your debit card to hand (we are unable to accept credit cards), and your car registration number.
