The East Devon Grassroots Environmental Grants Scheme

This scheme has been set up with the specific aim of helping individuals, community groups and parish councils throughout East Devon, to achieve a variety of environmental projects.  

We can provide advice, support and grants of up to £500 to take a variety of projects forward, for example hedgerow restoration, tree planting, improvements to wildlife sites and environmental education and interpretation projects.

Projects supported by the Grassroots Environmental Grants Scheme in 2005/2006:

- a grant of £500 to the Devon branch of the British Dragonfly Socity towards the cost of their new inventory of key dragonfly sites in Devon.

- a grant of £500 to the Devon Birdwatching and Preservation Society towards the construction of a new birdwatching hide at the Otter Estuary.

- a grant of £500 to a private landowner in the Woodbury srea towards the establishment of a new traditional woodland
