Children's Great Tree Hunt
Children of all ages have entered the Children's Tree Hunt to tell us about their favourite tree and send in pictures, poems and stories. There were three prizewinners and their contributions can be found here.
Luis Fitzhenry won free family membership for Escot Park with his writing and picture of his favourite Oak in Sidford
Holly James won free family membership for Bicton Park Botanical Gardens with a picture and poem of her favourite Western Red Cedar at Escot.
Laurence Wayne won free tickets to one of the 2006 family events at the National Trust's Killerton House
Many thanks to all these organisations for sponsoring these prizes
Although the competition has ended, you can still download the form to record your favourite tree or phone Kate Tobin on 01395 516551 (extension 2060) for a paper copy. Once you have the form, you can draw or photograph your tree, measure it, collect a leaf, find out what wildlife lives on the tree and you can even write a story or a poem about it.
