Planning Policy at East Devon District Council
The Planning Policy Section at East Devon District Council forms part of the Economy and Development service. A key task of the Planning Policy Section is to produce policies and plans to guide and regulate development and set out proposals for future development in East Devon. The documents and plans produced by the Council relate to:
East Devon Local Development Framework
New planning policies produced by the Council and the evidence that underpins these documents will make up the East Devon Local Development Framework. Follow links to the Local Development Framework to view;

The Council has a new consultation portal which will enable you to register your interest in documents making up the Local Development Framework. You will be able to register, view full details of current consultations and complete interactive response forms through this link.
Local Plan
The Local Plan (which technically forms part of the East Devon Local Development Framework) was adopted in 2006 and sets out current planning policy for development in East Devon. The policies of the Local Plan will be progressively superseded by Development Plan Documents and Supplementary Planning Documents that form part of the East Devon Local Development Framework.
Parish Plans / Design Statements
Parish Plans and Design Statements are reports produce by Parish Councils or other local bodies that set out local area proposals and initiatives. Details are provided of the plans that have been adopted or endorsed by the Council.
Regeneration Projects
The Council are working on a number of major regeneration projects in the District.
