8 To appoint 10 Corporate Overview and Scrutiny Committee Members to a Budget and Service Plan Task and Finish Forum to undertake detailed work prior to the Corporate Overview and Scrutiny Committees considering the Budget Book and Service Plans at their meetings in January/February 2007.  The proposed date for the Task and Finish Forum is 22 January 2007 with membership being politically balanced, that is - 6 Conservatives, 3 Liberal Democrats and 1 Independent.

Outside Bodies

Victim Support Devon's Management Committee

The Council no longer has a representative on this outside body.  The stucture of Victim Support has changed from a Management Committee to a Board of Trustees.  The structure is being reviewed nationally and will have a standard form of membership.  The District Council may be invited to be a part of the Trust when the review has taken place.  In the meantime, the Council has been thanked for its interest and support.  Councillor Mrs Drew who was the Council's representative on the Management Committee has been thanked particularly for her valued contribution.

Honiton Community and Arts Centre Project Working Group

Councillor R Boote has stepped down from acting as Council representative on this Outside Body.  Nominations ar invited to fill this vacant post.

Exmouth Community Association (Exmouth Tuesday Group)

The inaugural meeting of this Group was held on 17 November 2006.  The purpose of the Association is to identify community projects and access funding.  A Councillor from each of the three tiers of local government is being asked to join the Steering Group as ex-officio members.  Nominations are invited to represent the Council on this Outside Body.

Members of the public are welcome to attend this meeting when items listed under Part A of the agenda are being considered. For the benefit of Councillors and members of the public a hearing loop system will be in operation in the Council Chamber.
