About the proposal:
In July 2000 the Church Commissioners for England submitted an outline planning application to East Devon District Council "Exeter Gateway, an intermodal facility for the transfer of freight and a freight distribution centre" - planning application number 00/P1394 - for which, a decision is yet to be issued.
In October 2005, East Devon District Council received an updated environmental statement for this development. This can be viewed in the libraries at Honiton, Sidmouth, Exmouth, and Ottery St Mary. A copy is also held at the Ottery St Mary Town Council Offices (open 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3pm Monday to Friday), as well as at the East Devon District Council Offices, Knowle, Sidmouth (open 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday). It is also possible to view the document (and others related to it) electronically using the links below. However, you should note that some sections are large and may take some time to open.
