Licensing Act 2003 – Licensing Policy

The Licensing Act 2003 requires that the Licensing Authority review its Statement of Licensing Policy every three years. Our last policy expired on 6 January 2011 and the Authority was under a duty to review and publish a fresh policy by that date.

In accordance with both the Act and the Guidance the Licensing Authority undertook a full consultation on the proposed changes which ended on 12 November 2010.

All representations received within the consultation period have been noted by the Licensing & Enforcement Committee and the Council adopted the revised policy at its meeting on 8 December 2010.
