Public Questions to Committees
Under our Constitution, any member of the public can now ask a question, or make a statement, at the following:
Council
Cabinet
Development Management Committee
Planning Inspections Committee
Overview and Scrutiny Committee
Housing Review Board
Audit and Corporate Governance Committee
Standards Committee
A 15 minute period of public question time will be held at the start of each meeting of full Council, Executive Board, and the committees listed above. Giving notice of the question you want to ask is not necessary under the Council's constitution; however, it would be helpful in providing an answer to your question if you could tell us what that question is before the meeting.
Please note that both Development Management Committee and Planning Inspections Committee have different public speaking arrangements:
Development Management Committee
Planning Inspections Committee
You can provide your question by writing to:
Democratic Services Manager
East Devon District Council
Council Offices
Sidmouth
Devon
EX10 8HL
or e-mailing your question to Democratic Services. Please confirm the name and date of the meeting at which you wish to speak.
You are limited to three minutes to make your statement, or ask a question, so please be as clear and succinct as possible to put your point across in that time. The Chairman has the right and discretion to avoid any disruption, repetition and make best use of the meeting time.
