Food Enforcement and Health and Safety Enforcement Service Plans.

The Environmental Health Service’s aims are to protect the health, safety and welfare of members of the public and people at work, who may be exposed to risks from the way food businesses or other commercial undertakings carry out their work.

We have statutory responsibilities to make adequate arrangements for the enforcement of food law and health and safety law in relation to specified work activities.

The Enforcement Service Plans set out how the Council will provide a food safety and health and safety service and what the key components of the service will be. It allows objectives to be set for the future.

They have been produced to ensure that local businesses, members of the public, Council officers, Members and other agencies understand the approach adopted by the Council. The service plans will help to ensure that the actions of the Council are fair, consistent, open and effective.
