What’s New in Licensing?
Changes to the Licensing Act 2003 in respect of Temporary Event Notices
As from 25 April 2012 there have been changes to the Licesning Act 2003 which means that there will be some differences to temporary events notices (TENs).
The most significant changes are:
- There is a new form which must be used for all TENs submitted from 25 April 2012.
- Late notices will be accepted no later than 5 working days but no earlier than 9 working days before the event. In any one calendar year personal licensice holders will be entitled to submit up to 10 "late" notices, non personal licence holders up to 2 "late" notices.
- The maximum length of time for a TEN increases to 168 hours (7 days).
- The maximum aggregate number of days permitted for a permises on one calendar year increases to 21 days.
- The person who submits the ntoice must send a copy to the Chief Officer of Police and also to the Environmetnal Health Office.
