Coronavirus update - Green waste service temporarily suspended
The council has suspended green waste collections so that it can focus its available resources (drivers and loaders) on high priority services, such as waste and recycling collections. Normal service will be resumed when the current situation improves. We are not able to take any new green waste subscriptions. If you are an existing green waste customer please renew your subscription when it expires. We will add the current suspension period to your subscription period when we are able to resume the service so you will get a full 12 months of collections.
Green waste fortnightly collection service
East Devon has introduced a district-wide chargeable green waste collection service.
The council is working with partners SUEZ UK to provide a fortnightly chargeable green waste collection service for its residents who have been asking for a reliable district-wide service of this kind for some time.
All of the green waste collected is composted in East Devon and used by local farms.
The service costs £48 a year and collections are made from the kerbside - easy, reliable, recycled. The service is not being subsidised by the council tax payer.
The service is provided for eleven months of the year with a six week break at Christmas each year. The Christmas break period will be notified to residents with our usual Christmas/New Year collection calendar.
Only those properties that we can access with our full-sized vehicles are able to subscribe.
